I am starting to introduce different foods into my died. My question is how do I know if the problem is what I ate yesterday or if it could be from the day before?

IBS Flare Up
It's easy to find out your digestive transit time. Some people's works faster, some slower. But to find out how long it takes from eating something to it coming out the other end, eat something like beetroot. And then watch your poo.
You might notice your poo is reddish purple the following morning if you ate that at dinner time (about 6-7pm) Or it might come out that colour for a couple of days.
Your full transit time is up until you don't notice the colour any more.
I have a fast transit time and 16 hours later I poop red, and then no more after that. But with some people it can be up to 3 days.
So, once you know that you will have a fairly good idea how long it takes for a food you are trying to cause any upsets in the lower gut. But of course, you might get symptoms sooner than that.
(by the way if you do try beetroot it might make you "go" a bit more than usual, but it's worth it to know your transit time so you'll have some idea about the other foods you try.)
You have to just introduce one thing at a time and give it at least 48 hours transition time. Sometimes it can be the day after or two days after depending on what it is. If you try too many foods at once, there's no way of knowing what is causing the symptoms. It's a long slow process so patience is needed. Good Luck!
If you've ever had a colonoscopy prep or diarrhoea so bad that it has emptied you, your food turnaround time is the time it takes from eating again to having your first BM after emptying.
My fastest transit time was when I tried a brand of 'meat free' sausages. Out of the back door in two hours. My guts clearly did not like them.
