beef bone broth & bio-kult

I have suffered from IBS for years. I was going 6-8 times a day, sometimes 3 times at night. To be explicit, as this forum calls for detail, I am not constipated but suffer wind and soft stools without being full on dioreah. I find pulses, refined sugars & chilli to be the worst exacerbating factors. I have recently started taking bio kult probiotics again daily and I think the key was when I started regularly making beef bone broth. This seems to have had the biggest benefit I’ve ever had in years. A 3-4 hour low pressure cooked beef bone broth with onion, celery, carrot etc. then consumed as soup or in sauces. I have much less wind, have a more solid stool and am ‘only’ going 3-4 times a day now. This is the single most beneficial thing I’ve ever done to help with the IBS as well as reducing refined sugar, which I do sporadically but my gut seems much more stable now . Give it a try and if anyone finds a noticeable difference, please reply to this. I’d love to know.

I have IBD as well as IBS and I have read that many with IBD do indeed find bone broth helps a lot. It is good that you have highlighted this as for many it could really help them and people should give it a try. My issues are controlled with meds, but if at some point I start to go a bit downhill, then I will certainly give bone broth a try!
