Have you tried taking Buscopan to help relax the intestines and Fibrogel sachets instead of laxatives?I know before I got my IBS-C under control a roast dinner with red meat would make my constipation worse even with a barrowful of vegetables. Sometimes the vegetables caused even more pain and bloating , especially if they contained insoluble fibre instead of soluble fibre. I could have taken enough laxatives and laxido sachets to make an elephant poop and still nothing moved for me.
