havnt heard of this
I’m on the plan at the moment and got my results 10 days ago: good fat control, poor blood sugar control and dreadful gut microbiome! Getting these results is only the first stage (which costs about £300); I am now on the “personalised” plan to improve things, which will obviously take some time at £40/mth. Fortunately, I can afford to do this, but I imagine many with IBS problems couldn’t. I’m currently in discussion with the Zoe team about the “personalised” scores, because some of them seem a bit weird; however, I must say that they are very responsive and knowledgable (I was sent a replacement sugar monitor, no questions asked, as I damaged the first one).
It all seems very professional, so I’d like to keep going; the plan is also realistic, and doesn’t expect you to keep rigidly to any particular diet (which it’s founder - Prof. Tim Spector - doesn’t think works anyway). Oddly, though, the plan seems to increase fruit & veg variety intake before probiotics to establish a better microbiome to digest it, but they’re the experts!
Time will tell, I guess
amazing, I’ve been trying to do research and it does all look very good/legit. To be honest, I’d happy pay whatever to try and sort my ibs:get answers! Did it take long for you to get your kit after you ordered online?
Hi Jenna. I ordered mine months ago, but they weren’t available until May so, if you join now, I guess the kit could come quite quickly. However, what I don’t know is whether there’s a waiting list or whether they’re sent out in batches, as that could effect the waiting time.
I’ve just received a very detailed explanation of the way the scoring works for the issue I raised only yesterday, so that has increased my confidence in the programme. Good luck with it.
It’s a bit longwinded and there are ups and downs but I’m finally finding the benefits. Had my results; very bad everything, gut, sugar and fat. No food is off limit, no counting calories. You learn how your body feels when you eat certain things that are good for you and when they are not. It’s a process, not a regime and you can still have things you like. For example, I’m Type2 diabetic and wear a continuous glucose monitor, I ate a small cake a few days ago and my blood sugar swooped up straight away to way too high. Subsequent days, same cake, added a tablespoonful of full fat kefir, 3 large blackberries and a few pistachio nuts. No change in glucose level at all. It’s all about how you eat, less about what. Suggest you read The Glucose Goddess then decide.
