hello hello 👋 to each and every warrior fighting the good fight with whatever ails you I hope that you are all as well as your body is allowing you to be Well now have battled IBS (GP misdiagnosed as pancreatic cancer after she didn’t read the radiographers report stating no cancer detected no masses seen!!) I for some reason stopped eating all fruit and vegs blaming them for the griping stitch pain and as if you too suffer IBS know all too well the lowness you feel etc etc My GP hadn’t referred me to a neutritionalist or dietician either 2 year waiting list apparently NHS (some GP I can hear you say!) My daughter asked me for 5 hairs from my head she then paid £27 to a Sensitivity company Don’t think I’m allowed to advertise the name here Anyway back came the results all 36 pages I can’t touch ANY Dairy or sesame/sunflower oil and seeds or bananas I’m low on beta-carotene and phosphorus some E-numbers My daughters shows she’s sensitive to tin so any tinned foods upset her It’s unbelievable as a knock on effect can make you so poorly Upshot I started a non dairy diary stopped every single milk product esp cheese of which I was extremely sad but bought alternatives I’ve stuck religiously to it and I feel 1,000% better While I still get occasional discomfort IBS wise it’s not a patch on how debilitating it was My hair and skin and just me in general are thriving Someone I hardly know asked me what’s making my demeanour much happier lately I’m on week 3 How I’ve missed cauliflower and broccoli now in moderation all fruits barring bananas I tuck into I’m not saying this is a miracle cure but it makes you appreciate just how your body ticks Thanks for reading I hope my positivity and the total admiration and dedication for for a beautiful daughters continuous quest to help me try to live a easier life will touch you too Come on warriors and survivors Perhaps this may help you too 🧡

Hi, it's great that you've been able to pinpoint the exact things that you need to change, and what's lacking...etc. I hope you continue to do well. It's great to know exactly what doesn't suit you. The hair analysis test sounds interesting.. I have been put off from doing anything like that because I get periods of time, often weeks and weeks, feeling fine, and eating the same foods, then I crash down again with either an actual flare, or a long-winded one which isn't too bad but not 100% either (still eating the same foods!) So I have been unable to trace anything I eat that causes me problems. Surely (I think), if a food or food group were bad for my gut wouldn't it give me symptoms in something like 8 weeks, but instead I am completely normal??

Also I have hardly any stress in my lifestyle

it could be something like lack of phosphorus or beta carotene or an E-number Anything you couldn’t probably of thought of like a metal or a tree or even Pidgeon poo ?? They just test everything and if you are sensitive then these things will add to your condition All I can say is that because rather short sightedly that any veg ie cauliflower would cause more wind or acid fruit diarrhoea It was a case of I need to know what to avoid Never in my wildest dreams did I think it was dairy I would eat cream cottage cheese tinned evaporated milk and now I don’t touch any thing in that category my IBS is responding so well plus I’m healthier as I’m eating good fruit and veg I think anything is worth looking at For me I am just so thankful that I have been educated by the results I hope that you look at something like this After 4 weeks They advise you to eat say for me milk chocolate if I react badly it’s obvious that it’s that I can’t have but if I try butter and it doesn’t upset me then I can reintroduce I really had become complacent but not now My diet is varied and I’ve ditched the processed stuff and at least try a different approach Keep going fellow warrior !! 🧡

Good morning all like the name fellow warriors. Well I am still on my journey to seeking good health. Determined to accept all help. Diagnosed with IBS 30 or more years ago! Two years ago helpful locum diagnosed coeliac which I'd obviously had for years as gastroscopy showed marsh grade three I think. Really can't remember details. Horrendous colonoscopy ! Now booked for slow transit study as have right sided ongoing right iliac fossa pain which prevents me being comfortable at night. Prescribed laxido which I'm persevering with. So wish me luck on my journey. My motto look forward keep an open mind and enjoy the good days 😊 Best Lally

hi there thanks so much Your motto is Really encouraging positive and true This site to me is all about the kind support we give each other by listening and sending a positive approach Eventually with help we do manage to find a comfortable route and life eases for a while

What I find and there is always one who likes to blind you with science pour heaps of negativity on you and tell you It’s coincidence and tries to rain on your parade Life can be if you let it be very trying Even questions without knowing what part of the country my NHS is failing at so 2 year wait for nutritionalist is right but no they know better It’s a shame to want to try and burst someone’s bubble but like you Enjoy the good times and keep an open mind Love it fellow warrior!!🧡

Just to make others aware that there is some official guidance about food intolerance testing here:

bda.uk.com/resource/food-al...

Hair analysis

A small lock of your hair is sent to a laboratory, where they scan the energy fields in the hair. The results are then compared to a database.

This testing is used for recreational drug use and lead and mercury poisoning. However, its use in allergy testing is unproven and has no scientific basis.

Probably what has happened in your case is that you have landed on some of the common food culprits when it comes to IBS symptoms. This has been a happy coincidence for you. Glad that you are feeling so much better. However, unfortunately this coincidence may not happen for everyone and some people may avoid certain foods unnecessarily.

Unfortunately, the only true food intolerance test for IBS is the FODMAP elimination and reintroduction diet. Ridiculous that you were told that there was a 2 year waiting list for a dietitian referral who would have gone through this diet with you. No wonder you looked for help elsewhere.

Hi Arpin That sounds amazing, I'm so pleased for you that you have found some relief in this tiresome struggle.

Would you be able to let me know the company that your daughter sent your hair to, I'm off to the gp tomorrow again and as you say just feel like I'm getting nowhere.

Many thanks
