Like Sandpaper in my gut

hello I have IBS and the last four times that I had a bad bout with diarrhea due to something I ate( like popcorn or drinking carbonated beverages..a big no no) I suffer for the next five -7 days with gas pain that feels like sandpaper is rubbing my insides along with intense cramping.

I've done everything I know to do (no caffeine, drink fennel tea, abdominal massage, low fodmop, but it takes at least a week to resolve. does anybody have any suggestions?

Hi the d can take time to settle back from the havoc it causes. Do you take any wind release tablets?

I have had IBS for many years and still get flare ups and for no reason I don’t drink fizzy drinks and have decafe tea but I do limit myself to one coffee a day, you might want to try a probiotic drink daily I have Yakult before breakfast daily it certainly for me has helped when/if I do have a flare up it doesn’t last anymore than 24 hours, I’m going through a trial at the moment with bread which really does mess me up can’t find anything to suite me apart from possibly Soda bread at the moment, you might want to try that if you haven’t already ( it’s really nice toasted) good luck for the future x

Yes have had gluten free bread thought I would re introduce bread but obviously not working I have gluten free cereal and GF chocolate as a treat, I’m also trying Alpro sugar free almond milk

Try Rennie Deflatine. It breaks down gas bubbles that cause the pain into smaller ones and helps you to eliminate them from your system.

I use Silicogel, I find this really useful when my stomach feels so painful and sore, I wouldn't be without it these days
