Have you had Covid at any point from early 2020 onwards?
My IBS started just a bit before my Covid infection, and during Covid my gut was okay! But I have had a few unusual chesty sensations since recovery from Covid (I got in in Spring 2020) Now sometimes I wake up with mucus on my chest which has to be coughed out. When I do that, it's always white or clear. No blood. That is on and off. Sometimes I don't get it. sometimes randomly I do. It's usually gone about 30 minutes after I get up a.m.
In humidity I get it happening more. It never feels very serious to me and I've not gone to the doctor with it. I am still in the process of figuring out what connection it has if any with my IBS. The chest thing can happen whether my IBS is in a good or bad phase.
Hi, a lot of possibilities / causes for white phlegm so you might go to see your consultant / GP. Could be an indication for an inflammation caused by a virus or bacteria. But since I'm not a medical professional I leave the diagnosis of the root cause up to the physicians.
