It depends on your type of IBS, but for me inulin was a disaster since I'm IBS-D!! The best thing is to use about 1 tablespoon of ground (not whole) flaxseeds in your yogurt. It's much better than psyllium. Inulin is high FODMAP - just read about it on the internet. Some people can use it, but I avoid it like the plague!
Crippled me worst stomach pains ever along with chicory - I avoid both. If you wanting a prebiotic try Bimuno powder - I found they were better on the tummy - but then we are all different - can only but try - you may be fine with inulin
I avoid inulin like the plague lol!
I did try 1 teaspoon but not happy with the results so back to the Laxido I go, thank you all for your replies
Anything which is mentioned as "good for gut health" is really bad news for me, including high inulin foods, all except asparagus which is slightly lower inulin and for some reason I'm fine with so long as I peel the stalks.
I have learned that things that are advertised as "good for gut health....good for digestion" etc are foods and drinks I'm better off avoiding. (IBS-d)
