Thank you very much David for sharing,I'll read later once eaten. The Low Fodmap has been my saving grace and you've helped me loads.
I'm eternally grateful.
Alicia 🙏🙏
I’m so pleased it helped Alicia, hopefully others will realise the benefits are in the food we eat and not in a pill! 🙂
It helped so much David and totally agree, it's what we eat not what pills we pop, other than probiotics for me of course.😊👍🙏
Thank you for posting this David, I will be reading this later on. This is really very helpful
My pleasure, I hope you find something of use. Lots of good IBS/SIBO info on Monash...
Thank you so much, I am sure there is lots of great info on there. I do follow a low fodmap diet and have found a degree of success, I just worry that staying on it indefinately means we will lose out on nutrition. I am taking supplements, so I suppose its not really so bad
It shouldn’t be used long term for the reasons you mention. 4-8 weeks of restriction followed by gradual reintroduction and ‘testing’ of what causes a negative reaction...would be my suggestion
Thank you David, I have tried that but sadly months after not eating the food, it still causes the same about of pain. I do try to incorporate lots of differen't foods into my diet to help. I think sometimes I stomach is so sore that anything upsets it, even water.
I am sorry to hear that.
I am sure you do but you must follow the restriction phase correctly. I would argue that during the first phase you should excluded all processed foods, coffee and alcohol too. And avoid gluten free products especially as they are highly processed.
Equally the restriction phase should be relatively short as the nutrients missed are not good on a long term basis...but I suspect you know all this! 🙂
Good luck!
Thank you very much, most appreciated 🙃
