Covid booster and flare up

Had my covid booster/ flu jab 3 days ago. Since then having a terrible flare up, pain, lots of wind etc etc. Anyone else had this after jab? or is it just a coincidence ?

Good morning I am experiencing exactly the same. I had my booster 3 weeks ago and am still suffering from cramps and frequent toilet visits. I thought it may have been a coincidence, but my symptoms are usually under some sort of control. Be interested to see if other members have the same issue. Xx

had booster two years ago all downhill since my ibs causes unbelievable agony when I have to go to the bathroom waiting on another ct scan to look at my pelvic area massive waiting list sadly wish I knew what I can and cannot eat be a great help

Both you & Claire should report potential adverse effect accordingly eg MHRA yellow card in UK.

I was told when I had covid that it was likely to aggravate IBS so it makes sense that the vaccine would too (vaccines often cause similar side effects to the effects of the disease). Contact your gp surgery and report the side effect as this will allow others to make an informed decision.

I had covid 6 weeks ago, I didn’t have common symptoms, but had upper and lower abdominal discomfort. Didn’t know if it was covid or lack of inactivity causing the problems. But looks like it was probably covid. Will report side effects from vaccine when docs reopen

I had cold symptoms, a dry cough and fatigue but no fever or any other main symptom. I did have a minor flare up as well but it settled quite quickly

The jabs contain polyethylene glycol (PEG) a gastrointestinal irritant. It’s used in other drugs such as movicol.

Yes I start having my IBS because of Covid jab. When I had first 2 I start having stomach pain after 3 weeks for long time so I got recommended to take probiotics which made such a difference. Now I had my booster and it was so bad I had stomach cramps and was sick so now I know from what my IBS started. For sure I will not have again vaccine because it was my cause of IBS. I took probiotics again and now my stomach is back to normal. I wanted to report this side effect but not sure where.

Thank you for posting this I was to convinced mine has been caused by my Covid Jabs had my second in March had a flare up in April that lasted about 3-4 weeks things calmed down and things were good. Then November had my booster a week later started with the worst flare up where am now in to week 6-7 slight relief but not 100% some one on here recommend some tables sorry can’t remember the name ment to help with good Bacteria which are coming tomorrow so am hoping once start them things will improve. I am 100% never having another Covid Jab, it is reassuring that others have experienced the same following their jabs.

I tried three different ways to report side effects and all I hit was a brick wall we don't need to know side effects was all I was told, so it would be really helpful if anybody knows a way of reporting these side effects need to be known for ibs and chronies as well. You really need to ride out the side effects I know there bad but believe me u do not want covid all of our intensive care beds are taken up with anti-vaccers, I implore you please stay safe and keep up to date with your vaccines

I got my Moderna booster 4 days ago. 1st 2 days were stomach cramps and nausea etc. 3rd day was ok. Today, the 4th day, the stomach cramps have returned. Here's hoping they go away soon. Good luck to you all!

Had my latest covid-19 booster on Thursday. Since a few days I'm feeling less 'well'. Most probably the effect of the vaccin and the reaction of my body, it isn't necessarily a bad thing. In normal circumstances I should feel a bit better in a couple of days.
