VSL#3

Hey folks. Just wondered if anyone has tried the probiotic VSL#3? I’ve started it and just wondered if anyone else has? X

I have but I have tried them all. It worked for me early on but keeping it in the fridge was more of a pain than expected.

I’m not bothered about it being in the fridge to be honest! I’ve tried capsule probiotics and they’ve made me feel really nauseous. However, no problems so far with this. My gastro recommended it. I’m only taking a half sachet a day and will build it up from there. X

That is where I started also - 1/2 a day then if I needed more the entire one. I do not think I had any side effects from it that I recall. That said I sure have from others depending on what they had in them.

I tried it. It seemed to be helping at first, but did not in the end. I think I have sibo and probiotics usually are not helpful until the bacterial overgrowth is cleared.

I’m sorry they didn’t work for you 🙁. Have you been diagnosed with SIBO? I have chronic constipation and very painful upper GI problems. It’s a long story, but my gastro thinks I have a type of long covid. So all my existing problems (IBS, reflux) have become hyper sensitive. I’m in a lot of pain. I’ve been on anti-fungals and they helped quite a bit until I had to stop them to see if my upper GI will desensitise themselves! I’m currently trying these probiotics because he suspects when I had covid (if that’s what it was - I was very, very ill for 10 weeks and my guts were a disaster), it’s totally stripped my entire gut bacteria. I’ll keep going with them for now, but they’re so expensive! I really hope you can get the help you need, xx
