As I write this another sleeplessness night, die to anxiety that I have a blockage because I can’t pass wind.

I ve been having Bowel movement no-blood what I ve notice anyway. But really struggling to pass wind.

Am really panicking which yes probably making it worse, but I don’t feel this is my IBS I feel it’s something worse.

I told my doctor who said I needed to do a bowel screening test, then depending on the results she will refer me for a colonoscopy. Reason is all my symptoms point to IBS and she said she is 98% sure it’s IBS. It was only when I mentioned I was struggling to pass wind she agreed on the bowel screening.

Not sure if anyone else has done the screening before but , you have to do it Sunday to Thursday 2 separate test on 2 different days (if am bad with constipation I can go 3 days in between) so am struggling to get the 2 together. Which is causing me stress and anxiety as me not having a normal bowel routine is delaying things.

Sorry for waffling on just need to vent as am worrying, I ve had trapped wind for days, now . wish I could put a pin in my stomach and let it all out. 😞

As far as I know is a fit test now. That old method of testing has gone I think. It’s just a one shot green stick that you swipe over to collect stool. Any blood in it then your off for a colonoscopy to detect any abnormalities like polyps that can turn into cancer. You could ask for a fit test and a CEA blood test if your concerned. If you think it’s a blockage then this will probably show higher readings if it’s a tumour. But tbh if your young and with no family history then it’s unlikely

Yes I have been given the fit test kit not done it yet those as have to do it between Monday and Thursday and I don’t have a BM every day ☹️

Am 42 no family history so I know the risks are lower.

Thanks I have a GP appointment Monday so I with speak to them about it in detail.

Any blood, mucus, changes in bowel habits or weight loss?

No blood or mucus Hard to tell with my bowel movements because of my IBS but nothing that stands out.

You could have a slow intestinal motility. I have that and somes feel the same as you, can't pass wind sometimes and then get worries that I have a blockage. Do you take anything to help you poop?
