I only use berberine in a small amount because I've been diagnosed with constipation predominant IBS with overflow diarrhea. I've been using it for two years now.

Too much berberine can have / has constipating effects so maybe it's (more) useful for persons with a diarrhea predominant forms of IBS. If you do a search on the world wide Web you can find much information on berberine and diarrhoea / diarrhea.
