Do you have such a quick reaction after certain foods?
I had finished my evening meal last night and sat down to watch Strictly when my stomach just began to blow up and I felt really unwell, off came my bra(sorry male readers) and off I went to the bathroom. bad wind very loose bm (I am usually constipated ...)
My friend who had come round said she would go as I was not in a fit state for company. I sat with a peppermint tea ( had 2 large cups)between bathroom visits.
I already take Mebeverine and Mintec, found some windeeze in the cupboard.
I have not had this type of reaction so quickly for quite a while.
I think it was the veggie sausages I used it looks like the recipe has changed from when I used to use them.
Any further advice on helping the symptoms?

I can react this quickly to some foods, particularly to soya which is often in vegetarian food. It horrible and so annoying! And embarrassing!
Unfortunately manufacturers will change the recipe without warning so its worth checking every time rather than just assuming it's going to be fine because it was the last time. This is why I've taken to shopping online because I can take the time to read the ingredients. It's also why I try to avoid pre-prepared foods, such as sausages, and cook from scratch but who makes sausages from scratch at home!
Do you keep a food/symptom diary? It is a bit of a faff but useful for working out trigger foods. There are loads online and the ibs network has a good one but I use a spreadsheet with columns for date, time, food/drink and symptoms, you could also add one for stress level if stress has an influence on you.
Have you tried ginger tea rather than peppermint? Mint is quite acidic and I find it can trigger reflux and heartburn for me. Ginger is just as good for calming the stomach and has anti-inflammatory property which I find calms things faster after a flare up.
I had a bad flare up last night too. No idea what triggered it so I'll need to go through everything I ate for the last couple of days and see what I missed. Isn't this just the most joyous disease!
