Hey guys slightly deflated today
Hi Curious, please don't panic, it just means they have detected some blood, that is a long way from cancer. I know it's the first thing that goes through your mind when things like this happen but try to put it to the back of your mind and think instead that now you are going to get somebody to find out just exactly what is happening with you. People often post on here saying they have a positive test but everything is fine after more tests.
Keep your chin up, and think positive.
Thanks Maureen I am hoping it nothing but positive vibes eh ... on a rash thinking spell I am not bleeding like a cut or anything it was a off chance I saw it when I was in hospital so if honest the blood wasent really naked to eye and these a all new symptoms again ... so hopefully it's nothing and if it's is something it's very early early xxx thanks u feel more reassured knowing that people have had this done before and had a positive test and it came to nothing x
I had positive for blood, I have a history of cancer and at a colonoscopy there was nothing to see. I understand completely why you feel how you feel but the chances are tiny. Try to remember that your brain is just trying to protect you by thinking the worst and it's not a fact. Try not to dwell on your fears, it won't change anything and it will just suck all the joy from your life. Focus on the positives and try to line up some good things to do both before and after the procedure so you can distract yourself from worrying.
Let us know how you go. Good luck x
My test showed blood so I had a colonoscopy which came back clear. I did have dental problems including bleeding gums when brushing my teeth so I think that is what showed up in the test!
I also had a positive test blood found in poo sample. Colonoscopy showed two polyps which were zapped no problem. Think positive these tests are amazing as they detect any issues early on. We are so fortunate to have the NHS there for us. You will be fine try very hard not to worry. More than likely to be nothing serious but if it is then it will have been caught early. Polyps are zapped as a precaution as sometimes they can turn to cancer. Prevention is the key. Good luck
Everyone replys thank you I love this wee website and page uses have been great with advice and talking throughout my journey so far I do appreciate so much a wee apperation post... its means the so much to me really does ... thank you all again x
hi. That's hard to deal with. However, try to stay positive. They will get you a colonoscopy appointment ASAP and then you will know for sure. You won't have to wait long. Good Luck.
I had a positive result after doing the 2 yearly test for over 60s a few years ago.The colonoscopy showed nothing and all tests since have been fine.I am sure you have nothing to worry about and good luck.
My result was positive so had endoscopy All it was 2 polyps but the blood was from a small ulcer NOT cancerous and internal piles. No treatment needed. Many things can cause this. Very few are cancer but they have to rule it out.
Sending lots of positivity to you it's possibly nothing to worry about its really hard not to worry.thinking of you😀
I had abnormal result of stool test had colonography last week on 2 week urgent appointment still waiting the results of that and lm scared wish l would hear soon but all these reply's help me also
I've had a couple of colonoscopys in the past due to positive poo tests. I was told not to worry as there are very many reasons why there could be blood in poo and mostly they are normal reasons. I'm very pleased to say my results were fine and no further action needed. Please try not to worry too early, I know it's easier said than done but worrying doesn't help you or change anything.
