Ibs?

Can you have ibs but still have normal stools? I have many other symptoms including cramps bloating gas but my poops have been quite normal.

Yes, this describes me. My frequency is increased during flare ups, and they can be a little variable, but mostly look fine.

You can have look normal poops as you call it, But they may look normal and it still could be any IBS. The thing to do is make a diary of what you eat then take notice what irritates your stomach and the ones that don't. So at least you know why you are getting these cramps. Do you take any medication ?

Thanks yes i have been taking buscooan and citalopram. Currently in not feeling any better im barely sleeping and urinating all of the time which is keeoing me awake

If you keep peeing too much then I should ask your doctor to do a per sample just to check that you don't have a UTI. This will rule that out but if it is then there's antibiotics that will clear it. I would have a read on the Citalopram leaflet as well to see if there's any side effects to the drug.

Yes i have have been and i havent got a uti. Online sources say its possible to have a over active bladder due to ibs. Im just wondering if anyone wlse has this and if theres a way to control.

I was given antibiotics because they thought it might be UTI. Due to Covid I was unable to be properly examined so it turned out that I didn't have UTI aa first thought. So as of today I've been okay but the antibiotics may of cured the problem what ever it was.

The problem using anti biotics is it can make me stomach worse and it might be for nothing

Hi...I have ibs symptoms and fairly normal poops (bit messy/sticky though). I also have fibromyalgia which is a double whammy! I also have problems urinating loads through the night which causes pretty miserable days through lack of sleep! I now make sure I drink 2 litres of bottled water per day making sure that most of it is drank before night time. Have been tested for UTI but came back all clear. Good luck getting it sorted..keep us posted

This only started 3 weeks ago for me. Before this i was absolutely fine. I had ibs a few years ago but its not the same pains as before this is more of a dull ache mixed hard/lose stools and the feeling i need to wee. Where as last time i was constantly constipated and had cramps thats moved around. I had a uti test and it was fine so im unsure where to go from here. Worst thing is the lack of sleep which is new for me and is really effecting my capability to work.
