SIBO and Antibiotics

I have been seeing a Gastro consultant who is almost certain that I am suffering from SIBO. I really struggle to tolerate any oral antibiotics.

I have tried Rifaximin, ciprofloxacin ,vancomycin and Doxycycline and have not been able to take any them for any more than 2 days.

Is anyone aware of any alternative ways to have antibiotics which would help me like intravenously or by injection to avoid my stomach. I have had IBS for many years, functional dyspepsia, Bowel Cancer which I had a right Hemicolectomy for and also had a recent confirmed diagnosis of Bile Acid Malabsorption although I do not have the classic symptoms for this.

Any help would be very gratefully received

B52s please review these links that may offer a adjacent approach to your current treatments. In addition, the probiotic s. boularii used concurrently with antibiotics is able to control bad bacteria which are able to repopulate faster after antibiotic treatments than good bacteria can be reestablished. It also may prevent c. difficile during these treatments. Vitamin D will be an ally in your effort. Magnesium is needed for activating thiamine. Check out the various forms and level that fit you best. Also be aware boron helps with magnesium absorption and is also an anti inflammatory plus antifungal. Look into the pros and cons of thiamine forms sulbutiamine, thiamine hydrochloride, TTFD and benfotiamine and their effects in the brain and body in addition to the vagus nerve. Finally check out Delta tocotrienol as it applies to your health history and concerns. Always consult with your health care provider before using any supplement.

I'm limited to antibiotics by injection only. It is a pain in the butt but the only way to stop destroying my gut flora, yet again. I have to spend the time in hospital taking up valuable space as they will not let me go home while on the medication. I don't know why as I live literally 4 minutes from the hospital and can easily be there every 8 hours for my injection. Kind of feels like it is being made difficult deliberately to make me toe the line. More fool them.
