Have u been prescribed lanzoprazole?
Has the weight loss stabilised?
Proton pump inhibitors, and yes!
Just as Hidden says. PPIs inhibit the production of hydrogen ions (protons) in the digestive tract. Protons are responsible for acidity in the stomach, the primary purpose of which is to break down food and kill pathogens; too much acid can cause indigestion, heartburn, oesophageal reflux, damage to the stomach lining, etc. PPIs are sometimes prescribed to neutralise the acidic properties of other medications like NSAIDs (ibuprofen, etc). I guess you've been prescribed Lansoprazole for one of these purposes?
