for the last 4 years I've had terrible gas, the smell is Horrible and lingers for a long time. The Gas smells like Sulfur and No Doctor can figure it out. I've cut out Dairy, Eggs, Corn, High fructose. I've had many tests and I just don't know what else to do? It isn't every day that the odor is there but the Gas is.

Have you been tested for sibo as the bacteria ferments causing sulphur type gases ,? Charcoal tablets could help with the odour x

Hi I've suffered from this for years,even when I was a kid.I was told it was caused by post nasal drip, which then accumulated on my stomach.
Which in turn gave me a sulphur type gas.
I know what your talking about, it smelled like a coal fire having water thrown on it.
Also at the same time in the early hours sometimes when I clear my throat, there is a orange tinge to my sputum,and at the same time the pit of my stomach was very upset,to a point where I was sick, and when I was sick it smelled like mothballs.
Over the years I've used a anti hayfever spray to dry my nose out and to a point it has been a success.
I know all of this sounds crazy,but in my case this is what the outcome was.
I've tried my Doctor, and he has said he's never heard of it before.
Oh I've had my stomach scoped looking for a peptic ulcer but there wasnt one.

I also agree with SIBO perhaps methane which I hear now are calling it IMO. I have methane and the gas I have smells horrible when I eat sulphuric foods. Get a hydrogen/methane breath test done. Go to a great gastro but first ask them so you don’t waste your time chasing your tail if they have any experience with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and methane overgrowth in the large intestine.Are you More on the constipated side or diarrhea side or normal?
I honestly cannot find a Good Gastro Doc, I've been to 5 and they have no clue? they've put me on Alinia, Xifaxin , I've cut out many things in my diet which has helped but it eventually comes back . I usually have a normal Movement in the morning after coffee. I just wish I could get to the bottom of this.

Well xifaximin would be fir SIBO but if u had methane then you would’ve have to have taken neomycin or metronidazole with it to really do the job otherwise it’s nit successful treatmentBut u really need a breath test

You Shouid have far better healthcare than here. Find a good gastro but before you book with them make sure you email them and write down all your issues and then ask if they are familiar with your set of issues before seeing them. They may know someone else to refer u too before u start hopping around. That’s what I’m doingDo you want have any histamine issues? SIBO can cause that too. I suffered with migraines from red wine for years. I don’t drink it anymore bc it’s loaded with histamine however SIBO will cause a gut dysbiosis and things u never had u will start to have like EPI Whixh I now have

Look in the toilet and see if there’s any oil after a BM. Shine a light in there so u can see. If u have that ever run to the dr!
