I’m new here. Does anyone get terrible cramps or spasms that feel like shooting nerve pain in the lower stomach and pelvic area? It occurs mostly when I’m bending or moving around. It’s so awful and it literally drops me to my knees it’s so bad! Is there any medication to take to stop this? It’s the worse!

Shooting cramps
Oh how familiar that sounds! Yes I get them but rarely now I'm on the right diet.
I found being constipated or bloated made it worse and antispasmodics were helpful but never stopped it completely. But because IBS is so weird what helps me might not help you.
Are you keeping a food/symptom/stress diary? If not it might help you to keep one. I just used a spreadsheet and noted down date, time, what I ate, what symptoms I had and how stressed I was. It helped me take control, work out what diet I needed to be on and helped me recognise what was my biggest stressors (stress is a major factor for me but might not be for you 🤷♀️)
Hope that helps
Yes. I used to get this. I was put on Bentyl or Levsin for the spasms which seemed to help, I even had anal spasms which can be very annoying. But I suffer from chronic and severe IBS-C..and I think they further made me constipated. But these anti-spasmodics might work for you. In several occasions I have had these I was told it was "trapped gas". Once I was told it was a UTI..it was more of a "pulling" stinging pain. I tend to get UTI's alot. Have you had any tests performed? I sometimes think I may have a small hernia in that area from either lifting or straining. Getting an MRI done but my pain this time is by my navel..
I do! Right above my pubic bone in the center of my abdomen. It feels like someone has their fist in there squeezing super tight! Sometimes it gets so bad it hurts to sit upright. I have found that an ice pack provides some minor relief.
