Anal Fissure the cause?

26 Year Old otherwise healthy

Currently being treated for a skin fungal infection around groin /bum area. Thankfully starting to settle and going away. Though this has exposed a cut that is vertical in nature running north of my anus and continues up a few cm up.

Sometimes a sharp feeling when passing stools and blood on paper, but tonight after I flushed the toilet, didn't think it was a overly hard motion to pass but there was floating after flush, a small bit of blood (could have been a clot)

Could an anal fissure be the cause of this?

I had a rectal exam in Feb and GP said everything was fine

Bad candida infection can cause the skin to split and bleed, so this might well heal when the infection is more under control.

Yeah that's my thinking as the skin is already irritated and perhaps a bit weak! Just scary and cUsea a worry each time I look and see some blood

Actually raised it with my doc a few weeks after my initial appointment when I went to see about my skin follow up and without even looking said the fissure could take months to heal

Hopefully this don't last much longer 😑

I suffered a lot from fissures at one time and ended up having surgery as I was desperate. However I wouldn't recommend it except as last resort. Recovery was slow

W and no fun. Since my skin is very sensitive in this area I now wash with aqueous cream and plenty of water. Never wash with flannel unless no choice. Also dont put any clothes on the area till you are perfectly dry. My trick after swimming is to dress top half then ,with towel round middle, dry hair. Then dress bottom. This just about keeps the problem at bay. Hope it heals up soon, I remember the pain

Bleeding is now a lot less. Went to the toilet tonight, just needed to pass some gas but in doing so felt like a strange popping sensation and there was some blood - looking at my anus, there is a clear cut around it and its painful now passing stools rather than the blood loss so im. guessing its finally starting to heal.

Did you ever use vaseline?

No, I never used vaseline, never thought about it but it may be good. I just used aquos cream for washing and for creaming the area. Cant remember if I had anything on prescription. I was advised to use vaseline recently on a deep surgical wound that was infected. This was to stop it scabbing over untiL it healed from the bottom. I used to put vaseline on the bad patches of my daughters eczema before swimming and it does work as protection. Good luck

Hi there, would appreciate some advice. I was passing pebbles first then a large still fell like passing glad and adding fur 2 hours after and about 5 drops of blood. I've had it before but nothing for 2 years. But for the last 5 I've had chronic itching. I had a colonoscopy in 2018 and always worry drs have missed something. I'm scared to tip the toilet now

I had a fissure last year (Summer of 2019). My first ever, and caused me LOTS of pain and blood. It seemed to take forever to heal. I did seek medical advice and was prescribed something or other but it still causes lots of blood on occasions. Very random. But I am not overly worried about this now.

Stool softener yesterday absolutely no blood for the first Time in MONTHS or pain :D... Today mild bleeding but I do see a small circle like tear 🙄 yesterday had gave me good encouragement
