This month is IBS Awareness Month. It’s a time when we step up our efforts to raise awareness of IBS and the challenges people living with the condition face.

With the recent coronavirus crisis, the team here at the charity believe it is more important than ever to continue our work raising awareness and supporting the people who need us. Many of you have been in touch and reported feeling particularly stressed and anxious about our current situation, which has made your IBS symptoms worse.

As the national charity supporting people living with IBS, our priority is to continue to support our members and wider IBS community throughout this worrying and uncertain time.

Now, more than ever, we want to be here for you and the hundreds of thousands of people living with IBS in the UK.

As part of IBS Awareness Month in April, we are launching a new campaign reassuring people with IBS that, with support, they can take control of their condition. And now is the perfect time to do it.

The campaign, called Take Control, highlights ways that people with IBS can live well and learn to better manage their condition.

Effective self-management is the key to living well with IBS but taking the first step can sometimes be difficult.

Throughout April, while we’re all self-isolating, we’re encouraging people with IBS to do at least one thing to take control of their IBS. This could be completing a wellness diary, recording what they are eating and how they are feeling, trying a probiotic or making time for relaxation.

To help you, we’ve produced a FREE Take Control of Your IBS guide with more clear information and straightforward advice about what you can do to effectively self-manage your IBS.

We will do all that we can to stay in touch and continue supporting our community at this time of uncertainty.

If you need us. We are here.
