I all i am experiencing really bad diarrhea , been six days now.

Bowels churning and moving around at night like its doing the cha cha.

I have been taking lansoprazole for around 5 weeks ,could this be a possible cause ?, maybe a side effect, i can't think of anything else different that i have taken to trigger it.

It would be a good idea to speak to your pharmacist or GP, so you could find out if there is an alternative medication you could take, which didn't have the same side effects. Personally, I prefer Omeprazole for GERD symptoms, and have been taking it for over 15 years now, with no problems (well not from the Omeprazole, anyway). Good luck.

I was taking the other one but then gp switched to lansoprazole as felt it would work better for the acid reflux.

I just don't get why it would suddenly give me diarrhea now, unless it takes a while to build up x

I don't know about Lansoprazole, but Omeprazole takes 3-4 weeks to get up to full strength and work in and on your body.

It sounds like you've got a bug just let it take it's course and eat a plain diet and plenty of fluids. If it doesn't clear up to the doctors they may send a sample off. I hope it stops soon .
