Chronic constipation microlax micro enema help?

Hi day 3 of dense poop which is too large for me to squeeze out.

Day 2 tried senna tablets along with rubber glove and vasaline which always work but failed me.

Today day 3 Spoke to chemist at 0730 this morning who recommended microlax micro enema an hour after and no results. Supposed to take 5 to 15mins. Doctor won't take my phone call until after 1pm and it's Friday so what happens to me over the weekend if I can't go in next few hours?

I phoned chemist back and he said wait 2 hours before another enema but thinks max dose is 2 in one day. There is no guidance on frequency of dose in packet or website.

I am unable to eat or drink anything other than fat free plain toast and water due to faulty gallbladder - waiting on my op. Usually gallbladder gives me runny poop as too much bile so I guess gallbladder now not producing bile hence why I'm constipated.

Does anyone have advice for me to clear this poop? I'm bed ridden in pain.

Have you tried eating 2 Kiwi fruits and drinking at least 2 litres of water. The Kiwi fruits worked for me (in about 24hrs). Also try Lactulose which softens the stools.

Result: had a 2nd dose of micalax and slight movement little came out very painful. doctor phoned prescribed laxido. An hour later drunk 500ml water with 4x powered laxido orange flavour and 40mins later softer smaller less painful poops. Don't think I'm done visiting the loo yet.

Posted this so anyone with the same issue as me - basically nill by mouth or to painful to eat things, has chronic constipation for 3 days can now consider this.

Have you tried dulcolax suppositories? I used caster oil once, its not widely used or recommended but it took everything straight through me.

Hey Zoe its Glo. Lactulose is really good for constipation. I've used it at home. But when I was in hospital,my Husband brought a bottle of it in for me because they would only give me Laxido. ...Anyway,the Nurse saw it in the bottom of my cupboard and took it off me. Be careful if you are Lactose intolerant.

I didn't feel any ill effects from it.

But they won't give it to me in hospital.
