I’ve taken senna in increasing doses for 20 years, now up to 6 daily. It works well, reliably and causes no pain. Your pain is probably the IBS and bloating?
Good luck

I think that not everything is suited to us all,so pleased it works for you though, and IBS affects us all in different ways.

That gives me terrible pain as do most laxatives. Constella is the best for me but causes diarrhea.

I won't be taking anymore laxatives as I'm still in pain with them,it's good to hear that you have found something that helps you.

Long term use of senna isn't recommended - though there may be people who rely on it:
nhs.uk/medicines/senna/
The most common side effects are stomach cramps and diarrhoea.
Do not take senna for more than a week. Long term use of senna can stop your bowel working properly on its own.
Here are some suggestions for IBS-C:
theibsnetwork.org/constipat...
I think the list is the order in which you should try them (i.e. least aggressive on the system to most).
