Colonoscopy prep

Hi, got my date for my colonoscopy, for the prep it says no milk for 7 days, is almond or coconut milk allowed? Any tips for what I can eat. Thx

Hi, all i can advise is to check if there is a number on the letter you can ring to ask. I just had a 2 day diet sheet with mine and i was allowed milk

With the prep pack the sheet says 2 days, at that appointment was given a leaflet saying 4 days and when my appointment arrived it says 7 days avoiding certain foods

Hi lmtch938 I had my colonoscopy yesterday and was only on a the diet for 2 days before but wasn’t allowed any milk at all x

Did you check if coconut milk was allowed? Where you also no nuts, red meat, chips, wholemeal etc

No milk of any kind. But the diets vary depending on the prep you’re taking and it seems it differs by hospital. I was on a very bland diet with no fat or fibre, white rice, boiled eggs and mashed potato... no fun! I was allowed black tea and coffee, water, squash and Lucozade x

That sounds the same as what I've been given, just been given 3 diff lengths of time and hate black coffee. Managed a flexi one on gas & air so hoping to do the full thing with just gas & air x

I haven't heard of the milk thing before. Did they say why no milk?

No idea, to avoid beans, wholemeal, nuts, cheese, margarine, not sure what I'm going to eat lol
