Feel like jumping off a bridge
Hi, my guess it was the milkshake. If I had a dark chocolate milkshake late in the day and then ate I would expect the same.
Your poop can be all shades from very pale brown to very dark, nearly black. There isn’t a right shade of brown colour as far as I am aware.
Brown is good!
Depends on what you have been eating.
Stomach ache may simply be you ate a bit too late. Don't think you should get worried about just one bowel movement.
Hi
As the others have said please try not to worry your stool will change colour when you eat different foods.
I would say that the combination of dairy and chocolate in the milkshake gave you the tummy ache as well as the dark stool. Also after doing the low fodmap diet I've found several sweeteners which are in foods you wouldn't think of that affect my ibs really badly like glucose-fructose syrup often found in pre-packed snacks, drinks etc
If you are feeling generally low in yourself though please see your gp.
Take care
hi I have exactly the same happen with milkshakes I love them but cant touch them, it is really nothing to be afraid of just don't drink milkshakes, and I also suggest using a milk alternative or very small amounts of milk. I wish you all the best Jo.
Thank you all means a lot to me all the replies it's put my mind at rest
The milkshake most likely had a laxative effect. Just to say please call samiritans on 116123 when you are feeling low. They are there to show kindness and be a non judgemental voice.
Hi ! may i ask who are "Samiritans" ??
and is this only in the UK ??
That is a uk number yes. It's a free helpline for people to be heard. Their protocol is not to give advice, but they can discuss what you are going through. If you aren't in the uk, I think there is another number. You can check on google.
Thank you all
