Ranitidine information.

Hi everyone,

I recently posted about Ranitidine. I just started today on taking the medication and I’ve been very anxious about whether or not I’ll get any side effects ( hopefully not ). For those of you who have taken Ranitidine in the past, how long was it until you noticed a difference in your condition e.g- getting better/ symptoms getting better. If you know what I mean and if you got any symptoms from Ranitidine, what were the most common ones?

All the best

Hi hazzaj

I have been on ranitidine for just over 3 weeks now. Yes it is helping me. I got relief in just over a week. The only side effect for me is when I go to the loo I feel like I haven't emptied my bowels properly but my stools are harder which is good. I have to take it for two months then see how I am. I have now been discharged from gastro and I'm waiting to see a nutritionist. I hope this helps good luck I hope it works for you.

I tried Ranitidine 5 years ago and unfortunately it didn't help me. But everyone is different, so I hope it helps you. Just an acid reducer.

It's quite a well tolerated drug, I was on 300mg - no side effects. Hope that helps!

As in its less common to cause side effects - kinda like paracetamol is well tolerated. But everyone's different! Only thing I noticed on it was it cleared my heartburn up within minutes lol which isn't bad at all ha :)
