Stinky burps and farts

Hi All,im a 45 yo male I've had IBS for donkeys years but recently due to extreme bloating and constipation I went back the quack after giving up meds,I'm now currently taking mebeverine 135mg and bisacodyl 5mg and they kinda work for me,I try to steer away from all the usual suspect foods too and have for years.

Anyhoo,since being on these tabs (4wks now) my bloating and constipation has reduced masively but the gas release is well over the top and uncontrolably shocking!! It reeks of sulphur and hums like a real bad blocked drain,it tastes acidy,which is to be expected,put it this way,I didn't think the human body was capable of making such smells and I'm now starting to wonder is this normal?

Any help or info will be greatly appreciated

Go and get some peppermint capsules from a health food store such as Holland and barrett. These help with wind.

Oh man... I am with you! I have mainly IBS-C and I could kill people with my farts. Seriously, they STINK OF HELL. No idea why. But it’s not all the time. I agree with hayfire - try some strong peppermint capsules...you can take them twice a day if you need to. I am in the UK and get them from Holland and Barrett. X

Once in a while I get the sulfur farts too and not sure what causes them. I do feel better and am less constipated after taking a magnesium pill after dinner. Try it for a few days and see if it helps. I heard taking vitamin C causes constipation. I think my multi-vitamins were causing C so I stopped taking them, and just taking magnesium has worked wonders for me. Good luck!

Sounds rather like my lactose intolerance.

I'm assuming you've tried avoiding Lactose for a while?
