Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has been taking coconut oil consistently and whether or not it has helped their IBS? I know it has some amazing properties, and I'm trying to introduce it into my diet more. Please let me know your thoughts!

Yes I took it for a while and it did seem to help me with ibs.

You will only know if it's for you or not by trying it for yourself.

I used to take one teaspoonful in the morning and one before bed. It seemed to help calm my stomach.

If you do decide to use it, then use it for a few weeks and if you see an improvement continue with it, but don't take to much of it. If you feel it is making you feel worse then stop taking it immediately and give it time to get out of your system.

The brand I used is called ktc, it has no taste to it. You can get it on eBay. If you are in the UK you can sometimes find it in Tesco.

Don’t use the brand ktc. It’s highly refined. You might as well use engine oil. Use organic cold pressed oil.

The refining is to remove any impurities in the raw material to produce 100% oil.

I think that might be a bit of a vague remark. Its had something removed as its tasteless. Keep it simple should be the key. Dont tamper with food. As with olive oil, Cold pressed organic is the way to go, no chemicals, tastes better for a few pennies more. KTC is basically an industrial cooking fat made from coconuts, nothing wrong with tha although I wouldn't touch it, but the purer the better.

I believe it helps constipation (because too much can give you diahrrea) but it may be helpful in either way!

Yes, I've read working up to two tablespoons a day is a great help and was wondering if it's helped people!

I Have IBS-C, and it was helping great with constipation. You get the unrefined organic kind..the one that is solid but it can melt. I mix mine in popcorn..like movie theaters used to do..or sometimes I mix it in rice, pretty much everything. Some people put a teaspoon in their coffee. But then I started getting rashes, and hives, and unfortunately I was allergic to it. I don't know about IBS, but I know several people who say it is great for constipation issues.
