Blood tests

Like so many of you I've been thru the mill of tests but nothing conclusive. Just had blood tests, first time for this problem, do you think it's possible to diagnose IBS thus way? I find probiotics and prune juice really help.

A diagnosis of IBS should be made after all other avenues have been exhausted. Under active thyroid, inflammatory levels, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease ruled out.

What symptoms are you experiencing, for example, are you bloated, are you constipated, do you have diarrhoea or a mixture of both? Pain? Blood?

Are you a diabetic who is taking metformin as this medication is known to alter the patient’s bowel habits, or perhaps you are on a different medication that your symptoms may be a side effect of. Can you remember what was going on in your life or if something happened to you around the time your symptoms were triggered?

I hope this helps.
