Frequent Urination

I am up all night going to the bathroom. sometimes I will urinate only a couple of tablespoons, but the feeling that I must go is there. I can get sound asleep and have to get up. It's driving me crazy, and I feel like I get so sleep.

See your doctor , could be a lot of reasons for this and the even the start of an infection! As it is affecting your quality of life get it checked out .

This sounds like a water infection.maybe take a sample to your surgery and have it checked out.IBS can put a lot of stress on the bladder.Drinking water and not caffeine is also recommended.Do get help I know how wearing this can be.

I have the same problem! Dr. says it’s Interstitial Cystitis, which is known to accompany IBS. I don’t sleep more than 2-3 hrs a night. I’ve lost 50 lbs. and look horrible. IC is also a chronic condition. Another Invisible Illness! No cause, no cure. Do you also have pelvic pain? Don’t want to get too descriptive.

So sorry you are suffering like me. I can’t stand for too long because of the pain & burning. Between that, the stomach pain, no sleep & little food, I can’t function. Now I’m really dizzy with loud ringing in my ears and my heart is beating so fast. How do you cope? I’m not doing a very good job.

Yes, that also. IBS is a horrible condition.

kind of true lying down might start it. Nocturia is no fun. You can get pills for it. They don't always help. I'm guessing as you're seeing a urologist the investigation is at least progressing. It may be fired off by an imbalance in your muscles above and below the bladder. You don't say if you're a boy or girl. It may be significant. As the muscle groups are roughly the same its no wonder there a suspected link to IBS.

Some of the stratagies are as for insomnia. Cut caffeine especially later in the day and any liquid in the evening.

I wish you luck.

Thanks little toad. Yes, I have IBS. I’ve been going to a GI doctor as well as my GP. Luckily I can go to any doctor I choose. Only problem is I’m now too sick to go anywhere, even the Dr. My heart is out of control and is beating very fast. I think it’s due to stopping a couple of my prescriptions. I’m completely alone as no one wants to be involved with me because I have chronic Illness.
