Hi. I'm a bit stuck, wonder if anyone can help. My daughter had several rectal prolapses from aged 2-3. This has not happened again since this age and shes now 7, however toileting has been a massive issue. She would hold on to both wee and poo. Currently she can go for a wee anywhere but we have major issues with her bowels. She is constantly smeared and has ladies pads in her underwear. She will only open her bowels if wearing a nappy and generally standing up. She has no awareness of poo touching her skin and cannot feel it coming out. Medics just say she is selectively witholding poo due to previous prolapses. Any advice on where to go from here? Fed up with daily challenges of managing the smell and mess and how it impacts on her life and making friends.
