Ibs and exercise

Hi guys. So went back to the gym for the first time in a couple of months on Monday. Did some running and some ab exercises. Nothing too strenuous. Since then I've had an upset stomach on and off. Softer stools than usual and just feeling a bit rubbish. Could this be to do with the exercise? That's the only thing that's changed in my routine.

Exercise can actually stimulate the bowels so it may be that. Once you get into the routine of exercise it will actually start to help your IBS so don't throw in the towel yet.

Hi, go easy on the ab exercises, and ensure that you stretch the deep hip muscles following any exercise. Generally exercise will help IBS, but build in the ab exercises slowly, as this can cause gut irritation.

Yes I've had this many times powerwalking hence not being able to do the London Moonwalk this year :(
