Hi, Have you heard of Carob? I use it as an alternative to chocolate, as it is caffeine free, and also less fattening. It is an acquired taste, and can take a bit of getting used to as it's a bit blander in taste, but I really like it now! Try some research online about it - Holland & Barrett even do Carob coated raisins as a snack, but you will probably find it in most health food stores. Good luck!

Try licorice

Why do you need one ??!!

There is a dairy free chocolate available from supermarkets and high cocoa dark chocolate blocks generally don't have dairy

I've had to be on a dairy free diet for 3 years from the age of 65 and have had to forego everything that I used to enjoy - but such is life

in reply to

such is life, indeedy!!! perhaps its natures way of telling me, I eat too much choc!!!! I can eat semi skim milk!! (drink).

Think I av been in denial with choc!! gonna try my hardest to find alternative,,,,, thankyou for help,.

Hi Calil ,Icannot have any food containing Fructose , Cadbury,s Flake does not contain Fructose . I will buy one and keep it in the fridge and if I feel like something sweet I will take a bite ,that usually satisfies me .one flake can last me four day,s but it is only Cadbury,s chocolate made in the Cadbury,s factory in England .

Don't know about what you have to avoid but Tesco have just brought out a new Free From Decadent Chocolate dessert which even my husband will agree is incredible! It only has 6 ingredients, which all sound natural enough. Highly, highly recommended!

Waitrose sell it and sometimes on offer if you buy two. It has to be the plain organic though which contains soya as the others all contain milk. Other things you may not not know and I have discovered through my daughters vegan diet....bog standard chocolate bourbon biscuits are dairy free also was in Whittards with her the other day and she bought Rocky Road hot chocolate drink which is also. So, it's not all doom and gloom there are alternatives out there. Happy shopping and enjoy your chocolate again! x

Has anyone heard of Yumbles? I typed Lactose free Chocolates & this was one that came up. It's 3 bars, 100 grams in each bar for £10.00 + & also postage too. ( can't remember exact amount as will lose this link)!

You'd think with so many folk having Lactose Intolerance it wouldn't be as expensive!

in reply toHobbies

Ooooooo, things are looking up :) thankyou,, will try,.

THANKYOU,,,, but do not bake :(
