For some, I believe the Paleo diet is far better than the FODMAP diet...

Right now my Mirtazapine Rx is keeping my diarrhea at bay... but, like I have told everyone... I'm not holding my breath! We KNOW how tricky IBS can be.

Beginning about a year ago, I started the Paleo diet... its very cleansing and you absolutely, resolutely CAN NOT CHEAT one bite (and then say 'oh, it doesn't work for me).... Speaking from experience! :)

For MONTHS after finally adjusting to NO GRAINS AT ALL, I simply had normal bm's... To me this 'eliminate gluten' business was totally useless. Made me NO difference. I think right now its a money making gimmick for food sellers...(sorry, but I do...)

Our MINDS have SO much actual control over how our bodies react and respond.

Here is a good link;

marksdailyapple.com/grain-p...

The reason I stopped the Paleo is because (not easy to confess but it IS the truth!)....I just plain felt sorry for myself and was actually addicted to eating certain foods... And when something is working, its too much of a tendency to say: HEY!! Now I feel good, I bet I can eat ANYTHING I want.... Then one cheats...then we tell others: well, it just didn't work for me. Been there, done that. :(

Anyway... just because one diet works marvelously for one person does NOT guarantee it will even start to help another. I personally believe that Anxiety is my worst trigger... You could look this link over...

ps: by the way, as of right now, I avoid MOST grains MOST of the time... So we will see if the Mirtazapine is gonna keep helping! :)

Hi Betty,I think we've spoke before. I'm a long term chronic sufferer of IBS. If there's one thing I've learned from this,it's no two bodies are the same. I also believe we're told a lot of rubbish when it comes to food. A good example like you say most are money makers. After a lot of health issues,medications ect ect,I've come to the conclusion you have to take your own health into your own hands. I've had lots of mistakes made with my health,because I've always believed " the Dr knows best"well not always. They are pill happy,forget trying to solve the problem,"give her a pill".

Now over time I've been given pills and potions for IBS,"but Dr they're doing nothing"

"Take them a bit longer let them get into your system." We've all heard this.

The point I'm making here is,I'm now on at least 3 pills I'm struggling to get off.

Mirtazapine being one of them. I started on 45mg 7yrs ago,with a great deal of pain and determinatetion ive finally got down to 15mg,but the pain I'm suffering with my IBS is worse than when I went on the pill. I'm stuck at that because I can't cope with the pain. That's just one pill I was given for IBS,I know ridiculous. I also have another one that gives me the same problem. Neither tablet done any good in the first place but I thought the Dr was alway "right".

No he's not so do your research and go with what you thinks best for you,don't make my mistakes.

Sorry for the rant but it gets me so annoyed that I

Was so stupid. Your health your body you

look after it.
