Hi sandybeach, I have the same problem having had lots of time off with my ibs and related depression/anxiety.

Employers definitely don't understand how painful and upsetting the condition is.

I have now been given a final warning and am in danger of losing my job.

I want to work but with this condition it is practically impossible to not take time off sick.

I don't know what the answer is I have tried different anti spasmodics, peppermint oil to no avail. Amitryptiline helped but left me feeling so bad the next day I found it hard to function so had to stop taking it.

I have yet another appointment with a Gastro consultant next week and am praying they will come up with a solution.
