Itchy rash after laparoscopy all over stomach

I had my laproscopsy surgery a week ago ( second successful removal of endo) but I have developed a red itchy rash over my stomach and sides. When it started I was completely of any meds and haven’t taken anything that was new the day before.

It’s a week later so I don’t know how it can be reaction from iodine/glue or meds from hospital. The only thing that started is the glue peeling off but the rash is all over-sorry for pic

0h honey That looks Awful! I never seen this reaction after any laparoscopy. But your definitely having a reaction I would be seen for this immediately! It could be tapes or glues but could also be a reaction from infection someware inside w/ something they may have used left or anything. I'd see the doctor just to be safe since its in and all around the general surgery site. Not to fear you just never seen that happen and to be safe theirs no infection going on.

Thank you, I’m going back to the doctor today. I range the post surgery help line and the first nurse brushed it off and said there is a lot of viruses so it may be one of them. I didn’t feel comfortable with that so rang again on Friday and they asked me to come in as soon as possible!

I’m now allergic to surgical glue, although I wasn’t 5 years ago. I had to have the glue removed by a doctor and now have dressing. They also took a swap of my belly button to double check. Thankfully I’m 10 days post op so they quite healed underneath the glue

So glad you were persistent and got to be seen and found the problem. When your body is going through as much stress and pain and W/ Surgery it can become compromised and react in ways it never has. Now you can reast and heal a little better . Hope this is a last for you good luck.
