Hi, my name is Amy and I am 24 years old and I have been concerned with my uterus for years but never received the correct standard of support, actions or advice from any doctor or specialist regarding this.
To put it into perspective.... I got my period when I was in Primary 6 so I was about 11 years old. For months before I got my first period I would experience excruciating cramping in my stomach, legs, back and arms. when I got my periods this pain would continue and I would bleed extremely heavily but I just put it to being unlucky.
I come out in hives all over my body on the contraceptive pill. The mini pill failed. I had majorly bad implications on the injections and the implant to the stage I was put on medication to force my periods to end, causing me more pain to the stage I could not walk. I have been to two differed GPs, gynaecologists and specialists that told me they would not do anything until I try the coil (which I refuse to do for personal reasons), because it could be my underactive thyroid and because there is “no reason” to suspect endometriosis. Over the years and changes of contraceptive methods, I have suffered from excruciating and heavy periods everyday for up to a year. I am no longer on any contraception because I have no other options and I have not had a period for about a year. When I was 20 I also suffered a misscarrige, which I understand is completely normal for first time pregnancies.
Do you have any advice, tips, suggestions, similar stories on what I should do or what this could be?
Thank you!
