Though we are living through difficult times I have some good news today at least.
TB Alert has managed to secure enough funding to continue to moderate this forum so I will be back answering your enquiries going forward. I will also try to catch up on past enquiries too.
We may also be welcoming a volunteer moderator who has direct experience of TB. I will write on this is due course.
I also plan to update the covid-19 FAQs on thetruthabouttb.org with the latest information on vaccines and TB. For now, please discuss any concerns you may have with your GP prior to vaccination.
Best wishes and speak soon,
Helen

Thank you Helen, a difficult task you’ve had, and thank you to the new moderator x
Dear Helen we hope you are in action permanently? I have real consternation about what happened when a doctor who I've seen twice criticised the report that stated on the private Quantiferon Gold test I had 2016 that he thought Detected did not mean positive. He wanted to send me for another Quantiferon Gold test first week of March 21 and of course, I said I would have another test.
I was disturbed by the NEGATIVE result of the test he authorized March 21 and I told him so.
On 4th May 21 I went privately for an identical Quantiferon Gold + test, to a very nice infectious disease doctor well away from where I live. He said the result would be emailed to me in a week.
Not only was the identical test Positive but the doctor wrote that the result was 'to be expected'. He also said in his opinion the Detected report of 2016 meant Positive for that Quantiferon Gold test, which I think adds a more sinister aspect to my problems.
How can I trust any tests of any description that is done locally?
Since 2016 I feel that it is futile for me to ask 'them' to try to find TB within me & yet my pleura is slightly thickened and the scars are still evident on my lungs. I feel it is disturbing that also I've been told after three CT scans that my lung fields were absolutely clear when they were not. A lymph node of 2014 not subjected to all definitive TB tests such as NAAT, PCR and the Gnome tests.
Hi this is all new to me hospital rang me on Wednesday this week said Latent TB could not get my head round it Doctor did say medication any advice or much Appreciate
