Hi everyone, Happy holidays to everyone and hope next year will be full of joy for you all..

I just wanted to discuss a worrisome thing. I just felt like something coming out of my chest and it was a small phlegm.. distinctly of dark yellowish color reminiscent to the days when i had cough. I never got cough in last 2-3 months, no fever and weight rose from 56 to almost 65 now. I wonder if that's something to worry?

My doctor told me today that my xray looked very clean from last times though there are still some small patches here and there. He told me that my treatment is expected to finish in 6 months.

Hi - your doctor did right in giving you an Xray, but he should have done a sputum sample as well, if he didn’t take one in to your doctors. There are many reasons for a cough including a winter chest infection, so don’t panic, but reassurance is needed to see why you have phlegm. Good luck and get your sputum tested!

Yes my doctor did collect sputum. The reports got delayed and I'll be given report like in a month. I told my nurse today that I get yellow sputum only when I try coughing too hard for prolonged period. Otherwise I dont have cough or chest pain, irritation. She told me not to worry since yellow sputum is normal. But to me its worrying still. I thought after 4 months i should not get any phlegm on either coughing too hard or gently...

I mean so far the doctor said xray shows that its going away and is much clearer. But It gets stressful to see even one thing going bad. Makes me scared. I did put a lot of effort to improve myself , gain 10kgs and I just want to have another setback

It sounds to me the way you describe it, that it’s likely to be a chest infection. But glad your getting it checked wish you well

Hopefully yes... she said that it is when you get blood when you should worry. Anyways, according to you , if I have normal appetite , gaining weight and have no other symptoms such as night sweats or fever. It should be fine right?

```yes absolutely! You are right to monitor any changes and your doctor is looking after you well. So please stay positive and let us know when your sputum sample comes back :) x
Awesome. You know When I'm done with this.. As a software developer I'll create something to allow people suffering from tb or other diseases to discuss stuff online. It feels so good to just share stress and then people like you care to reply and help. Thank you so much
