I’m currently on my 1st month of taking my medication to eradicate the TB and showing no symptoms, but my question is am I more at risk for the Coronavirus infection if I have mild lung scarring from granuloma nodules? Thanks.

Hello Espio75

It’s probably best to lie low. It’s getting quite serious with so many infected now that it’s really not worth the risk, stay safe and stay home x

Thanks for the reply, I’m unfortunately still working at a hospital. I wish there was more clarity in what underlaying condition people have for those who have symptoms to get a clearer picture.

I think there are so many variations of what an underlying condition is, from the very minor things to the more serious. So I think we have to evaluate ourselves and make a choice on what we think is right. Good luck x

Hi Espio75,

TB Alert is in regular touch with TB specialists and have been advised that the risk to you from COVID-19 is only increased if your lungs are damaged. This is very likely during active TB, so please do speak to your TB doctor or nurse about reducing your risks.

Best wishes,

Helen
