Swollen Armpits and Probiotics

Hi guys,

I’ve been diagnosed with TB and had a horrible allergic reaction while on INH. I’m in the process of getting a new doc and new meds. In the meantime I’ve been addressing my extreme fatigue with probiotics and supplements. I just added the probiotics and my energy level is great but my lymph nodes have swollen. I have to wonder if I should stop. Thoughts?

Hi HuffleSnuffle,

I'm glad that your doctors are adjusting your medication to help you avoid side effects, hopefully they can help.

It sounds like you are taking a good approach to your recovery, by making sure you have the nutrients your body needs to recover and fight the TB. That said, you should always discuss any supplements that you are taking with your doctor or a pharmacist, as they can interact with your medication in unexpected ways. The swelling in your lymph nodes may be unrelated, but without medical training I would not want to say for sure.

Best wishes,

Helen
