Tapering off prednisone while on Xolair
I can't say
Xolair
was a true miracle in my case: it made the bad attacks go away, and made me able to cope with work.

Xolair and tiredness
So I started
xolair
on Tuesday, I'm not too sure of the side effects but I'm completely exhausted. Since starting it I've been dizzy, pain in my legs and really bad fatigue. I'm struggling to stay awake for any length of time.. How long will this last for?

Admitted - sigh
Got admitted again, despite being on
Xolair
and maintenance Prednisolone. Feel slightly disheartened? I'm hoping to leave tomorrow, but I'm struggling tonight, just using my inhaler. Hope everyone's New Year is going well.

Humidifier advice (mould, cleaning, sterilization)?
I hope
Xolair
will make me insensitive to the humidity, but for now I am looking for ways to maintain humidity at around 40-50% during the winter. I have never used a humidifier before, since I am paranoid about mould growth.

Weekend DIY post: distributing filtered/conditioned air in a rented flat.
Not sure what I will do if
Xolair
does not work. I can make it through the day working on my PC, but any extra effort (talking or walking) is a problem.] Sorry, got side-tracked. Back to the DIY.

xolair: how long to see the effects?
I just started on
Xolair
after fighting for year to get it. Seeing a private consultant who did all the necessary tests helped, big time. May I ask, in your experience, how long it took you to see the effects, and how you knew it has started to work?

Tertiary Specialist Appointment - outcome
Regarding the
Xolair
, if my "asthma" continues to improve with it he will keep me on it even if my IgE levels aren't what they expect for it, which is music to my ears to be perfectly honest, because for urticaria it's only (usually) for 6 month stints. Have to be weird, don't I?

Ketotifen and Xolair
Had my
Xolair
injections yesterday (was so stressful getting back to the hospital lol), went well and the specialist nurse was lovely. Minimal wheals today although still a lot of itching, but it is progress!

Up and up - !
Consultant said I may be able to have the
Xolair
injection treatment or a brachioplasty! I'm up for anything. He also told me all about a heart x ray I had a while back and told me (in depth) all about it and said it is all superb. My GP said "It looks alright" when I first got the result.

Powered Respirators (PAPR) for covid and allergen control
"My"
Xolair
should start within "1-4 weeks" (as my pharmacist told me), and may take 3 months to work. Even if it works, I understand I can lose it at any time, if some beurocrat ticks a wrong box, and decides I do not need it.

Worst allergy season change we've ever had. Advice appreciated!
We want to start
Xolair
but know it won't really give us short term relief. Our lives are fairly consumed at this point with worry and anxiety, which of course just makes things worse.

How were you diagnosed?
Xolair
is next on the list. Towards the end of July my asthma got worse - I thought I may end up in hospital but luckily this was avoided. This coincided with my getting aching bones, joints, teeth - even ear ache. My bowel habits have changed as well.

Allergic asthma survival HEPA-tent
Hi all -- After 3 months of waiting, it appears that I might finally have my first
Xolair
shot (they emailed saying that they may have an appointment in 10 days). They indicated that there will be a review after 16 weeks (consistent with what papers say).

Allergen Desensitization in the UK ("allergy shots")?
They did not initially offer this as a cheaper alternative to
Xolair
, and were happy to administer
Xolair
straight away ($1500 a month).

sleeping upright: doable?
Hi all -- following a hospital visit, I've been FT on prednisone, 2 inhalers and montelucast for the last 2 months and staying in an allergen-free tent, waiting for
xolair
for my allergic asthma (no progress so far). Sleeping has been OK during the last month, once the drugs kicked in.

Xolair off the NHS?
I have heard that there might be a way to get on
Xolair
shots privately a cost of £1,100 per months was mentioned. This is costly, but it's still 2x cheaper than in the US (and 2x cheaper than the rent I was paying in San Fran, CA). Has anyone heard where
Xolair
might be available with direct pay.

Severe Asthma & Exercise
I’m severe asthmatic and naturally have been fearful of anything more taxing than a brisk walk but with the success of
Xolair
, I felt ready to get going again.
