Began Lupron/
Xgeva
treatment. After a year, Mets undetectable and PSA ~2. Added Casodex and PSA quickly dropped to .05. At 2 years PSA started doubling every 3 months. Also developed ONJ due to prolonged
Xgeva
use. Root canal gave some pain relief, but chewing impossible.

.5, .8, 1.0, 1.3 - Stay the Course?
I'm taking Lupron and
Xgeva
quarterly. Zytiga and Prednisone daily. Already did Chemo and Provenge. Original four bone mets when first diagnosed 2.5 years ago are not growing and have diminished with treatment. No pain.

Currently Xtandi Monotherapy, have had only Taxotere, no other therapy of any type. G9 2005. PSA rising now. Considering ADT 1/2 dose.
ADT concerns me greatly for many reasons, not the least of which is diagnosed osteoporosis,,,,I am of course on monthly
Xgeva
. Also have a question. Xtandi has raised my testosterone from 350 to 600 to 900 depending upon which month. Lupron’s mission is to lower it.

Good News, Pain Question, and a Dumb Forum Question
Now the good news, I just had my second infusion of docetaxel yesterday which came with a shot of
Xgeva
on the side. It went very smoothly, unlike the first infusion. Of course, before the infusion they drew blood and my PSA is already down to 0.19 from 216 at diagnosis in October.

Feeling sad and discouraged
He is currently on Lupron,
Xgeva
, Metformin and Taxotere and nothing is working! We have met with a Dr in Nebraska and are trying to get into the LU-177 trial. I am extremely concerned due to his Gleason 10, extensive mets, and resistance to everything we have thrown at it.

Question for men on Denosumab (Xgeva)
Has anyone here on denosumab experienced the rare side effect of atypical femoral fracture? I’ve had mets at the top of my right femur for some time, and there’s rarely been pain. This week’s bone scan shows the mets creeping downward about to the center of the femur. For the last 24 hours, I’ve had

Recovering from robotic prostatectomy; pathology results
Continuing on ADT ( Zytiga, Prednisone, Eligard,
Xgeva
) post surgery. Catheter removed on Nov 21, one day before Thanksgiving. Getting used to dealing with incontinence. Not too bad. Getting better every day, slowly but surely.

I guess
xgeva
is helping it. I’ve got new spots on liver and the 10+ from last time grew a little. There was a onco filling in for mine since it’s Hanukkah. His opinion: don’t get a liver biopsy yet. Try faslodex. Although he didn’t indicate what else would go with faslodex.

why only Lupron (every 3months) alone?
MO changed his monthly Firmagon to Lupron every 3 months and
Xgeva
every 3 months ( had one
Xgeva
shot October 23rd and one yesterday) From what I have read, shouldn't he be on another drug to prevent the initial testerone flare from Lupron.

On Zytiga but PSA still Climbing
Also been taking Lupron and
Xgeva
for past two years. No bone pain, three small mets. I think I’ve received all available treatment short of radiation and/or removal which my docs are not recommending. Anyone know of other options?

Bone Pains
He is taking Zytiga+Pred, Eligard (every 3mos) and
Xgeva
(monthly) and latest PSA is 1.44 from 33 prior to treatment (5mos ago). Are these pains from bone mets or SE of meds? Im not really sure. But he does stationary biking 4x a wk, swimming 2x a wk, some walking.

Genetic testing-how useful is it?
I expect that after I become castrate resistant from my current therapy (6-7 months now of Eligard, Zytiga, Prednisone and
Xgeva
) I will need to consider a PARP inhibitor such as Olaparib or Rucaparib. On Nov 14 had robotic prostatectomy as part of SIMCAP clinical trial.

Rapidly increasing ALP levels....has anyone experienced?
Have done Taxotere,
Xgeva
, Lupron , Zytiga for one year but off now for one month. Long story but currently waiting to see about Xofigo treatment which was started while on Zytiga until this forum posted the warning from Bayer pharmaceuticals regarding Zytiga and Xofigo used together.

Has anyone been treated by Dr. Bob Leibowitz @ Compassionate Oncology in Los Angeles?
My husband has MPC, currently on Lupron, Zytiga &
Xgeva
. We're looking for alternatives. I just finished reading Friedman's The New Testosterone Treatment which I believe Nalakrats mentioned - which led us to Dr. Leibowitz.

Help narrowing down NYC oncologists
Charles Myers and long story short: he's been <0.006 for two years now, while continuing on Lupron+Avodart+Zytiga+Metformin+Statins+
Xgeva
. SIde effects are no joke, but overall he's glad to be where he is, and hopes this protocol will keep working for a bit more.
