Also in Persistent Afib
I am in continous afib with a slower than normal heart rate (brachycardia). I experience no symtoms. I'm on the blood thinner Eliquis, 5 mg, 10 AM and 10PM to prevent my having a stroke. My cardiologist (who performs many ablations per year) recommended I do an ablation. I consulted with another cardiologist

Possible drug interactions with Xtandi and blood thinners - advice needed

AFIB and CBD use????
I am 57 and in relatively good shape. I have serious restless leg syndrome and on January 2nd started taking a full spectrum CBD gummy at night for sleep help. After about 2 weeks I noticed that the RLS had significantly subsided and I was getting better and better sleep. Then right after 2 weeks

Just told I need a partial Nephrectomy
Hi Friends- I just found out that I have a 4.5 cm mass in my kidney. I saw a specialist that has told me that I will need a partial Nephrectomy. This is major surgery, and I am really worried about it. The surgeon does not seem to be concerned about my APS, but I know the risks associated with surgery

Still in HF?
Hi all, First post. This is a great forum, very informative and supportive. Diagnosed with hypertension 18 months ago, usual ACE inhibitors took 6 months to lower BP. Then came AF, on Atenolol and Eliquis, but side effects, and GP switched me to Bisoprolol. Symptoms worsened and I ended up hospitalized

Diagnosis: "Favors Essential Thrombocythemia"
So this is good news. Except for one thing. My bmb did show some "mild to moderate reticulin fibrosis. Nevertheless the diagnosis favors the ET. My hematologist says that we will keep a close eye on bloodwork going forward. As I have the Calr 1 mutation and am already on Eliquis, no additional medication

APIXABAN
Just got home from the ER. I had a CT scan done of my head and everything was fine so they let me drive home. There is a lot of discussion and worry about "apixaban" and bleeding and other problems. I want to put everyone's fears to rest. Got mad at myself about 3 hours ago and slammed my head against

Going in For Second Ablation
Hi folks! I had my first ablation over four years ago, at Texas Cardiac Arrythmia with Dr. Andrea Natale. I wasn't able to come off my medication after, but the meds then worked to control my afib and numerous PVCs where it didn't pre-ablation. During these four years I had been taking 50 mg of Flecainide

Thanks everyone for your replies!
I’m still thinking. I have another appointment with my oncologist Feb 6. I’m going to talk more about it then. A nurse called yesterday to set up an appointment as it was approved by Medicare, must be expensive to get an approval first. She got upset with me as I told her I didn’t want it. I think

Eliquis
Seeing that a large number of people are changing from Xarelto to Eliquis as it appears to be safer, I asked my doctor to change me. I have the new prescription which I have not had dispensed yet, and it appears to be for 2,5 mg daily, I see the dosing information on the Internet that people of 80 and

WATCHMAN Inplant
Has anyone had the WATCHMAN Inplant? I’m 71, have Afib and I’m having problems taking 2.5 mg of Eliquis twice a day.. I’m wondering if there are risks involved with the procedure and if it’s worth it to have it done. Thanks.

What is AF Burden about?
I had a mild stroke in 2021, was discharged in 3 days w/ zero deficts. Discharge papers said the AF burden was 18%. Began Eliquis. Now, 2023, AF burden is 9 %. What reduced the burden and what does it mean?

why a stress test?
Been a while cause all has been “quiet.” I have been taking Flecainide 50 twice a day, Eliquis 5 twice a day, metoprolol 15 in am and 12.5 in evening. It’s been a year. Occasional blip but nothing to talk about really. I’m 66, female, and exercise aerobically 4-5 times a week. Sleep and eat well, work

Thanks for your earlier support for my 1st ablation. But now more questions.
I had my catheter ablation for Afib Dec. 30th. I went in with NSR, succesful ablation according to my Surgeon, and woke up in NSR. Yay!! Not so fast. In just 2 days I was walking around and doing light work, Yay! But here's the thing, on Jan. 7 at 6pm I went into Afib and it has continued even

Blood clot and kidney
Had a CT scan and found out that I have a blood clot in my lungs and cancer in my right kidney. All was great on the last scan. Now this!! Dr ordered Eliquis , which Medicare will not cover and because I do have Medicare I don’t quaify for any assistance. Walgreens wants $850 to pick it up. That’s

Watchman Device
I had my third ablation on August 4, 2022, with the left atrial appendage isolated. EP recommends a Watchman device because the clotting risk is now increased. I have been taking Eliquis since my diagnosis. I would like to hear from anyone who has had the LAA isolation and if a Watchman device
