I just started Eliquis 4 days ago. Gout surfaced almost immediately and has gotten worse
Do you mean your gout has resurfaced and you are worried about which painkillers are safe to take with Apixaban?
I take Colchicine when I have gout and the tablets don't interfere with the blood thinners
If you’re wondering whether Apixaban can cause gout, it doesn’t. It has been reported to cause swollen joints which I doubt
I was taking Allopurinol for gut long before I was diagnosed with AF. Originally I was on warfarin and bisoprolol and now I take Apixaban and Bisoprolol along with the Allopurinol. So far I've had no problems taking the drugs together and no evidence of any interactions between them. Since starting to take the Allopurinol, over 10 years ago, I haven't had an attack of gout and my blood urea and uric acid levels have been within the norm,al range.
I am the same as Brother Thomas almost exactly but I still get gout breakouts at which time I double my Allopurinal dose for a few days. It works for me without any problems interacting with my other meds. You should probably speak to your doctor.
cherries. It will take a couple of days but eat fresh or frozen sweet bing cherries - it will clear it up!
