Afib or something else
A few months ago my Cardiologist told me to stop taking Flecainide daily, and switch to Pill in the Pocket. This morning I woke, to an irregular heartbeat. Normally when I have Afib I definitely feel it, and I also feel a bit lightheaded. Today is different. My pulse is only a bit higher than usual

Supra Ventricular Ectopy
For the last two to three weeks, I've been having a lot of PACS. Prior to that, I haven't had much of any irregular beats for the last six months. These episodes last for hours, (until my PIP kicks in) and have a high frequency, up to every other beat. I've had two ablations and currently don't take

Exercise suggestions/plans/videos for Afib
It’s been awhile since I posted, although I do check the forum every day, so I have been following all the usual suspects and new arrivals. I was diagnosed at 65 in 2020 with PAF and really struggled to come to terms with my diagnosis as it was mid pandemic and also my mother had the same condition

I am 82 and have had paroxysmal afib for2+ yrs. I have always been terrified by an attack or waiting for one. They gradually increased to the point that I had cryoablation last September. That helped in that they are more mild and less common. Lately they have been increasing in frequency so I am

Afib and bradicardia
Thanks for much for everyone's help on the low heart rate. Yesterday I was Rushed to hospital by ambulance because my heart rate was so low I'm still in hospital now on a ECG machine and it keeps going really low and it's super high and all the alarms going up.

What is wrong with these drs?
Still doing great on Sotalol, so thankful for my new EP. I went to a new primary care last week, and we discussed my AF briefly. He said "why aren't you on anticoagulants?" "My EP said I don't need it at my age and with how little I get AF." He then brought it up again a short time later, "you might

migraine and Bisoprolol
I was commenced on Bisoprolol 1.25 mg daily to help with PVC’s. since then I have had 3 “silent migraines” aura without the headache. I have had similar aura type migraines since I was younger but there have been long gaps between them. My question is can Bisoprolol cause them to have become more

Atrial Fibrillation in Athletes
Athletes with Atrial Fibrillation, or who are worried about developing it, may be interested in this vid (just out) where two very fit cyclists visited Glenfield Hospital in Leicester (where the British Heart Foundation have a MRI Facility) and get tested. There is then a good discussion on Atrial Fibrillation

A Correction
A few weeks ago I mentioned that Dr Ohtsuka will be a panellist in an online (Zoom) discussion about AFib and the mini-maze procedure. The WO-MM (Wolf-Ohtsuka Mini Maze) is an adaptation of the Wolf Mini Mazem as performed at the NewHeart Watanabe hospital in Tokyo. Dr Wolf, who is a surgeon at Debakey

Slow irregular heartbeat?
Was diagnosed with arrhythmia last autumn, currently on edoxaban, flecanide and bisoprolol. About 20 hours ago my heart started beating irregularly, it is still slow (about 50 bpm) and seems to be missing a beat every 3/4 beats. NHS111 yesterday advised going to A&E where they did ECG and blood

Migraine on tapering
Just a quick question - I began DL's slow taper from 9mg to 8.5mg on Saturday 18/3/23 and suffered a migraine aura so took a sumatriptans tablet. Gradually recovered over the next couple of days. The second reduction to 8.5mg is today (22/3/23) and, again, I have had a migraine aura and taken sumatriptans

What is the difference between palpitations, ectopic beats, PVCs, SVTs, VTs?
Good evening. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of questions around palpitations on this forum, and I too have them myself; however, not medically treated for them. Sometimes I experience these with pain (with a constriction type of feeling) and sometimes I experience them without pain. I’ve noticed

Went to see my EP last night and he gave me news I didn't want to hear.I am on sotalol 40mg X3 per day plus apixaban. Berberine - does anyone have experience of taking this for PAF?
I’m going to have a pace and ablate in a few weeks time, so I started watching videos about it by the York Cadiologist (great guy!). On one of the videos I tripped across a comment where a chap said he had to stop taking Flecainide because of the adverse side effects (that’s me too!) and had started
