SOB but peak flow doesn't change and asthma tests don't show anything severe
Hi, I'm kind of desperate right now and thought that you guys might have some ideas regarding my problems. Roughly 3 Weeks ago I started having trouble of breath from time to time. In my case inhaling feels much worse than exhaling. Also my throat starts feeling harder when I have SOB. I don't have

Parents of children with asthma
How do you help your child to manage their asthma? Children often feel more confident and in control if they are encouraged to help manage their own asthma. Even very young children can start doing little things to help care for themselves. If you have a young child, encourage them to carry their reliever

Upper abdominal pain upon waking every single morning.
Hi, I’ve been trying to find answers for over 5 years. I get pretty bad upper abdominal pain upon waking every morning but after an hour or so propped up in bed it fades and I can get up. Alcohol makes it far worse and means I’ll wake up in the night feeling terrible with pain, sweating and nausea. Hence

Is it COPD or just a symptom of hypothyroidism.
Hi all, Was diagnosed with a spirometry test in February 2019,with COPD and given inhaler to take but despite being told I would get flare ups, this hasn't happened and I wonder if I've been misdiagnosed. I've read that coughing up phlegm on a regular basis is a symptom of hypothyroidism and they haven't

I have severe bronchiectasis, sarcoidosis, lung fibrosis with honeycombing in upper lobes. Despite 3 x 1 hour drainage sessions, I have trouble when going to bed at night. Grunting and clearing for ages. I was kept awake for 3 hours one night before I slept. I have an Atrovent inhaler. My bed

From clenil modulite to Fostair
Hi everyone I hope you are all well. I have just been given my asthma plan. I have also had my clenil modulite changed to Fostair. Just wanted to ask what your experiences have been with Fostair? Is it a ‘stronger’ inhaler than clenil and any advice of what you have experienced would be much appreciated

International study suggests alternative treatment for mild asthma
A large international study led by a McMaster researcher has found a patient-centric treatment that works for people with mild asthma. People with mild asthma are often prescribed a daily treatment regimen, but up to 80 per cent do not follow the routine, using inhalers only when they have an asthma

Seretide to Fostair?
Hello! I'm after picking some brains again, please! At my last catch-up with the asthma nurse at my GP practice, I explained that I've been coughing in the mornings and using my salamol reliever more than usual. Her suggestion was either Montelukast or changing inhalers. I really didn't get on with Montelukast

SYMBICORT 'CLICK' QUESTION
Dear enquirer, Twist the inhaler once clockwise to hear the 'click' and release one dose of Symbicort. You have to twist the inhaler back to the starting point to prepare another dose... then twist clockwise again to hear a second 'click' and release the second dose etc. I hope this helps you.

Do you think it would be possible to switch from a normal ventolin inhaler to an Easi-Breathe by IVAX?
Hi all, I play a lot of sport and struggle with my asthma whilst doing so. I am currently on a brown inhaler also. When i’m breathless I struggle with the mechanics of timing the normal spray ventolin. Do u recon they’d allow me to try the one which it’s pressured release ie the ivax easi-breathe?

Skin reactions to fostair
started fostair just under 2 years ago . Wasn’t happy with it from the start . Asthma seemed worse . Couldn’t sleep . I suffer from severe eczema . This has been appalling since going on fostair . It’s so bad that I’ve reached the point where I need prednisone for my eczema . Obviously my asthma is much

using Symbicort inhaler
Hi just wondering if it matters whether you get the " click " on the first or second twist of the inhaler? Not really sure why one has to twist twice -presumably the click activates the counter but does the other one open the inhaler or is it all irrelevant!Im only asking because previous inhalers

Mask Wearing
Hi everyone , I work as s carer in a sheltered housing scheme looking after vunerable adults . My asthma has been well controlled for a few years but for the last 2months it has become very uncontrolled which I believe begun with the wearing of masks in my job , I wear a mask for the whole 6hr shift

So it continues 😢 input please....
Hey folks, bear with me, for those that have not come across my story It started with a vape, woke up couldn’t breathe, felt like my lungs were filled with fluid, not sick, just hacking up a lung. Got marginally better 5 days in then 100 x worse.... 7 days doxycycline, didn’t help. Steroid inhalers.
