Question ?
I am on prednisolone, mercaptopurine (cytotoxic cancer drug inplace of aza)
urso
, omeprazole and sometimes Questran, if I have issues with over production of bile. I am also concerned that the HRT I use might be causing problems for my liver.

Urso
Urso
has definitely improved her bloods. If it's indeed alcoholic cirrhosis, would she still have to take
Urso
indefinitely? Many thanks Tim

Is this right??
The bile ducts which are blocked cannot be treated via ERCP or any other procedure so will be getting worse depending on the effect of the
Urso
drug. The Doctor said something about managing symptoms - this means the itching etc.

GP's ignorance
So at long last I will be getting
Urso
. I have had a liver scan showing my liver is enlarged. Am going for further more detailed scans. I hope that the 10 years of non-treatment whilst being symptomatic has not harmed me significantly.

Urso
I was diagnosed in December and since then have been taking
Urso
. I have severe fatigue and currently signed off work. I read on the tablet information that blood tests should be taken after 28 days to check whether the medication is working.

Shaking and joint pain.
I'm afraid I don't have a lot of faith in what's going to be said me next week and I just hope the
Urso
is working and my craziness is down to not knowing if the meds are working. This sounds crazy but that's exactly how I feel.

Fatigue
I have been on
urso
for about a month now and the tiredness I think is getting worse. My partner emplyed today that it was a coincidence that since my diagnosis I have got worse. Is it me or can that happen. I feel like I have no one that understands me.

Recently diagnosed
Also eating pills morning and evening is new, and sometimes I forget to take
Urso
with my meal. If I take
Urso
later than my meal, it can actually give me some itch(?) As sad as I am to have this disease -I also have asthma- I must say that I feel better than I have in years.

Blood tests for tumor
Hi everyone, I was DIAGNOSED with PBC, been taking
URSO
500MG twice a day, I've had blood tests and MRI scan & having a CT SCAN on Wednesday, I'm actually getting really frightened because the latest blood tests are a result of the mri scan revealing enlarged lymph nodes.

Yet Another "New Kid"
So my GI doc says my liver isn't behaving and starts the
Urso
with the consult to the hepatologist, my PCP says my gallbladder isn't playing nice and has to be removed so gives me the surgical referral, and on top of that I have to see a rheumatologist to rule out any other autoimmune conditions.

Fluctuating AMA positive, normal LFTs, raised IgM and ANA
Due to normal LFTs, I've not got an official PBC diagnosis and am not on
Urso
. I'm just ignoring it for now, but was curious to know if anyone was in a similar boat. For those of you with postive AMA but normal LFTs, do you also have raised IgM? Has anyone progressed with a vacillating AMA?

Hello! Just stumbled across this and couldn't be happier!
I also know another woman personally who has PBC and her
urso
stopped working. Has anyone else encountered that? Nice to know this place exists! I for sure thought I was alone and it's definitely been tough doing it alone and not having anyone in my corner understand.

Do you think your Pbc is worse since being diagnosed?
Dx with Pbc 8 months ago and been on
urso
7 months. Bloods have gone back to normal. My mind, soul and body have not since learning about this disease. I worry consistently. Driving myself insane. I have the support of my husband and daughters.

Very lengthy but worth the read
There is a new medicine study which is good news, for people not responding well to
Urso
. There is a Dr who is trying to get more studies and get those of us with PBC the help and more attention to this disease.
